Tansi,

It is a pleasure to welcome our new and returning students, families and staff members who are joining us in the 2015-2016 school year.

Thank you parents/guardians for choosing to send your children to EJSH. Please feel free to call or email your child’s teacher to discuss their progress and try to visit the school, as this will allow you to meet our staff and see what your child is learning. Please join us for Meet the Teacher Night from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on September 17th. We hope to see many families come out to get to know one and other and of course to share some delicious food. We will also be running horse therapy sessions this year and parents will have an opportunity to see and take part in some mini sessions on Meet the Teacher Night from 4-6 PM. We hope to see lots of parents taking part and enjoying the evening. We will also be providing supper: Elk Stew and Bannock, which will be prepared by our high school foods classes.

This is a great place to be with plenty of activities available for our students such as Athletic Programs, Student Council, Intramurals, Clubs and various volunteer opportunities. I strongly encourage all students to get involved in our school, balancing academics with activities, to come away with memories that will last a lifetime. We have high expectations and standards for our students and ourselves. Our dedicated staff goes above and beyond to support the students in achieving success, providing the opportunities for which we are all so grateful.

Please note that Ermineskin’s skatepark is not located on our campus and we do not provide supervison at the skatepark during the school day. Our Closed Campus is still in effect, which means that students are not allowed to leave the school grounds at lunchtime or during the day. This Closed Campus procedure is in place with student safety being one of our top priorities.

I look forward to meeting with families throughout the year and I encourage you to stop by if you have any questions or concerns. We strive to make our school a great place to be with learning, student safety, and miyo wahkotowin our top priorities. Let’s all work together to make this the best school year yet!

Ekosi,

Keith MacQuarrie
