Ermineskin Schools have two libraries, the Elementary and Jr/Sr High. Development of these libraries started in 1991, the first year of local control of education. The libraries are networked, allowing teachers and students in all schools to search a single library database provided by the use of SiriDynix Library Software. All school computers are connected to the Internet so that classrooms may also search the database before coming to the library. Teachers and students may also connect to our database from home. The libraries are made up of over 40,000 items including books, video recordings, DVDs, CD-ROMs, Computer Games, Atlases, Encyclopedias and Dictionaries.

Literacy is not for the fortunate few. It is the right of EVERY child. Teaching children to read is not the responsibility of a chosen few. It is the responsibility of every teacher, every administrator and every parent. David Bouchard
